“Located in the outer Sunset District, 1234 Great Highway will provide much-needed affordable housing for San Francisco’s low-income seniors. It will center resident needs by providing onsite resources and encouraging aging-in-place. The building's architecture will maximize the city's attractive west coast location with outdoor spaces and invite residents to participate in more outdoor activities.
A joint venture between TNDC and Self-Help for the Elderly, 1234 Great Highway is estimated to begin construction in 2027.
Currently, the development is proposed as an eight-story building that includes:
- 199 units (87 studios, 108 1-bedroom, and four 2-bedroom apartments) at a range of affordable rents
- an on-site adult day health care center
- an onsite community room and variety of green spaces”
