Aer San Francisco

In 2014, Aer produced their first gear bag, the Duffle Pack, after a successful Kickstarter campaign. Rooted in values of simplicity, functionality and durability, Aer grew their product line of thoughtfully considered bags, backpacks, and travel gear primarily online and with major department stores in the US, UK, and Japan.

For their first brick-and-mortar, Figure helped Aer translate their brand and ethos into a physical retail experience in San Francisco’s Mission District. The compact, corner unit of 600 square feet, was home to a former dry cleaners and office space. In considering Aer’s products for on-the-go movement, the main retail space features a custom baggage carousel inspired display wall that subtly slopes back as it gradually bends, producing a visually continuous line of products around the room. A family of simple forms—a bench, two stools, a table, a curved wall, and a mirror—become the backdrop for Aer’s minimalist products.
