Blue Oak House

The 2018 Camp Fire displaced more than 1,000 families in Paradise, becoming one of California’s most deadliest and destructive fires. As part of the rebuilding effort, the non-profit organization Rebuild Paradise Foundation solicited design professionals to contribute single-family house plan designs to their Floor Plan Library. Paradise residents can select one of these master planned approved house templates and work with a design professional to get a site plan permit approval. The Floor Plan Library, along with the Drone Aerial Mapping Service, are all resources available to residents with goals of expediting the rebuilding process.

The Blue Oak House is a two bedroom, one bathroom starter home that features a generous living, dining, and kitchen space combined under a tall vaulted ceiling. Every room is further graced with a great deal of day light and cross ventilation. The large overhanging eaves provide shade to two large front and back porches that take advantage of indoor-outdoor living that is so ideal for the climate of Paradise. At this square footage, the Blue Oak House could be utilized as a main residence or as an accessory dwelling unit (ADU).
